It is our understanding that foreign language learning is, above all,
an enjoyable, personal and communicative process. In Modern Languages we
aim to integrate television, computers, video camera, video recorders and
audio cassettes into our schemes of work. Not only do these resources supplement
the range of available textbooks but, equally importantly, they serve to
ensure we provide different styles of learning for the students.
In year 7 students take part in a long standing , successful and enjoyable
day trip to Boulogne. Other trips are available for students in years 8-11.
Students currently study French at GCSE. The skills of listening, speaking
and reading are tested by final examinations, whilst writing is tested
through a series of coursework tasks.
