The Centre is resourced and administered by the Cambridgeshire Visual Impairment
Service to support the inclusion of severely visually impaired students in all
mainstream curriculum experiences and opportunities.
Qualified specialist teachers, experienced learning support assistants and a
qualified mobility instructor work from the Centre.
The Centre is fully equipped to support the learning needs of students who are blind
or partially sighted. It has PCs and a scanner to produce Braille, large print,
tactile and audio materials, as well as CCTV and a range of Low Vision Aids.
The Centre staff work in partnership with parents, professionals and outside agencies.
Links are maintained with local primary and Further Education establishments to ensure
smooth transition at each key stage.
